Red Crescent Society of the Kyrgyz Republic
The Red Crescent of Kyrgyzstan is a humanitarian organization that works in all regions of the country and assists the population in various directions. RCSK has 7 regional, 1 city and 38 district branches, thus being the oldest humanitarian organization in the country. It works in 4 main directions: public health, preparation and response to emergencies, assistance to vulnerable groups, organizational development and international relations.
The Red Crescent helps people in need, supports low-income and large families, women and children in difficult life situations.
A lot of work by the Red Crescent of Kyrgyzstan is being done to prevent tuberculosis, HIV, hepatitis and other infections. Tuberculosis patients receive medical treatment, psychological and humanitarian assistance. The network of nurses covers patients with resistant forms of tuberculosis, helping to lead uninterrupted and effective treatment. With the help of information work, it is possible to talk about these diseases to a large number of people, reducing the risks of spread.
The Red Crescent of Kyrgyzstan distributes clothes and food to people in need, and also teaches women from large families and low-income families sewing.
The Red Crescent helps lonely elderly people, children in difficult life situations and persons with disabilities, provides home care, and assists in finding and providing the right equipment.
In addition, Tracing Service of the Red Crescent helps separated relatives to search and find each other not only on the territory of the country, but also abroad.
The organization conducts training for the population of Kyrgyzstan to respond to emergency situations, such as earthquakes, mudflows and other disasters. The population learns how to properly provide first aid to the victims.
The Red Crescent also takes care of its wards through social institutions, such as a boarding house for the elderly, nursing care, a children's crisis center, an equalization school for street children and day centers for single elderly people.
