On February 9, 2020, together with the Ministry of labor and social development of the Kyrgyz Republic and local authorities in the Chui region, we visited two border checkpoints between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
Interviews were held with border control officers, medical workers and the local population.
At this point, people have started to return to their homes.
We remind that on February 7, 2020, there were riots in the village of Masanchi of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is located on the border between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan. As a result, more than a thousand people crossed the border towards the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz REPUBLIC, during February 8-9, the total number of people who applied for medical care was 34 (mostly citizens of Kazakhstan).
